Holiday Cooking with Vitality Oils

It’s November, and the holidays are right around the corner. There is no better time than now to show gratitude for our family and friends with the gift of food. Why not combine that with your love of essential oils?! Essential oils in food, you ask? Of course! There are thousands of food products that you consume on a regular basis that contain food-grade essential oils for both aroma and flavoring. The difference between those food-grade/synthetic oils and Young Living’s pure, therapeutic-grade oils is the superior quality from Young Living.

But let’s go back before we go forward to the good stuff! What exactly is an essential oil? It is the highly concentrated aromatic liquid that is distilled from the leaves, stems, flowers, bark, roots, or other elements of a plant. They are very volatile, which means they evaporate very quickly, and contain compounds that benefit our health.

Now when I say they are highly concentrated, I mean HIGHLY! Young Living’s essential oils are 50 to 70 times more potent than the herbs or plants they are derived from. For example, just one drop of Peppermint oil equals about 28 cups of peppermint tea, and it takes 75 lemons to make one 15 ml bottle of lemon essential oil.

Last year Young Living launched the Vitality essential oils, which are identical to their standard counterparts but labeled for dietary use. This new line gives you a new way to discover the versatility of the pure, therapeutic grade oils that Young Living offers. Vitality oils are perfect for adding flavor to your favorite foods or using as dietary supplements. Young Living’s Vitality dietary essential oil line gives you the freedom to share and explore some of your best-loved essential oils in a variety of nutritious and delicious ways.

There are four distinct categories: Herb, Spice, Citrus, and Supplement.

  • Herb: Basil, Lemongrass, Oregano, Rosemary, Thyme, Lavender, Peppermint, Spearmint
