Did you know… There are 39 known species of Lavender? A lot of the “lavender” sold today is actually lavandin, a hybrid form of lavender developed by crossing true lavender with spike lavender. As lavender oil is created from the flowers, you can see from the pictures that lavandin is a “more efficient” plant with more flowers and produces about 50% more oil per plant.
