5 Day Nutritive Cleanse

If you’re reading this it’s probably because you’re considering a cleanse.  There are a ton of reasons to do a cleanse such as: Relieve bloat, remove toxins, uplift mood, increased libido, better sleep, jumpstart a weight loss program, and give your body a reboot.  This cleanse is nice because it gives you specific step by step instructions, it allows you to eat food instead of just drinks/juices, and it’s only 5 days!

A few things to know going in:

  1. You will start hating shakes by the end of day 3/beginning of day 4.
  2. On day two you will feel like you’ve been hit by a double decker bus (detoxing)
  3. Cravings are REAL and they are EVIL
  4. You will probably miss coffee… but don’t worry it’s only 5 days and it’s totally worth it.
  5. By day 4/5 you will start to feel lighter and have more energy than you probably have in a while.

So, to do this cleanse you will need specific items.  This is my sample shopping list to allow you to print and go if you’d like.  You will need specific items from Young Living as well which is in the left hand side of the picture.  If you want to review the meal calendar for all 5 days then look at the bottom of this blog post to see the whole meal plan.

The shakes are really easy to make.  Make sure you have a blender bottle (like you use for protein shakes).  It’s just 2 scoops of balance complete with 8 ounces of water or almond milk (tip, USE ALMOND MILK!!!).  If the Digest and Cleanse capsules are out of stock then you can create your own.  I used the veggie capsules from YL, plus 3 drops of Digize essential oil blend, and 1 pump of V6.  You do the shakes, the capsules, and the Ningxia 3 times per day.  Hooray for lots of Ningxia!

Here is the complete meal plan.  I suggest you copy the picture and print it out to stick on your fridge as a reference.  It’s super handy!

The very first time I did a cleanse, I had never done one before.  I hadn’t lived a very healthy lifestyle.  I weighed close to 140lbs and am 5’6”.  The first time I did the cleanse I lost 13 lbs!  Of course some of that is water weight and… ahem… stored intestinal contents… (was that less graphic?)

This time I lost about 4 lbs and it has been a huge help in starting my new fitness and healthy eating lifestyle.  I don’t crave sugar as much as I had before the cleanse and my stomach has shrank as well, which helps you to eat less overall.

This cleanse really does help you to change your mindset and your perspective on food.  It is easier to make healthy choices after you’ve done the cleanse as well.  I do one about once a year and if you are suffering from any type of chronic health issue, I highly recommend doing a “gut reset” by trying this cleanse.  You’d be surprised how many health problems coordinate with your gut.
