Want Dance Legs?
Our bodies were created to MOVE!
After losing almost 30 pounds with the help of Young Living, I really needed a way to get my body moving, toned and stronger. Watching people run, bike and lift weights made me cringe. They looked miserable! My apologies to those who love those things, but I just didn’t get it and knew I would NEVER be consistent. The thought of a 5K or 10K or any kind of “K” made me want to wad up under my covers!
I discovered dance after being cast in a musical and feeling petrified when the director said, “The choreographer will be here tomorrow!” I didn’t audition for dance! I’m a singer, NOT a dancer!
Having no knowledge of the language of dance was very discouraging. My body and brain didn’t work well together. When the choreographer said, “kick, ball, change” and other dance stuff, my body and brain was on another planet and there was definitely NO dancing! I eventually “got” the steps with a very helpful dance partner, but it wasn’t pretty!
Determined to conquer my dance dragon, I searched for adult dance classes. My first experience was tap dancing. Starting in the middle of year was overwhelming and intimidating. Everyone else already knew a routine for the “showcase” and the teacher nicely “encouraged” me to take private lessons to learn the basics.
Not to be discouraged in my dance quest, I scored a Groupon for eight lessons at a local ballroom dance studio. I felt sure I would quit after my package was finished. My thoughts were, “This is going to be cheesy and for old people.” Thankfully I was proven WRONG in all of that!
After almost a year of group classes, private lessons, fitness and flex classes, my body is more toned, my brain is sharper and I can actually DANCE!
I HIGHLY recommend dance for your body, mind and soul. Dance has opened a whole new way of thinking about music. I am not the best dancer in the studio, but I’m better than I was a year ago.
My dance teacher says,
“The only dancer you should compare yourself to is the one you used to be.”– Sterling Burroughs
I won’t be running any 5 or 10K, but I will definitely Cha Cha, Tango, Foxtrot, Waltz, Mambo, Samba, Swing and Rumba all night long!
Here is a list of Young Living products I use to support my body and brain for dancing! They also work for other sport stuff too!

A special thanks to my very first dance instructor Jonathan who has the heart of a true teacher. Sterling, Maggie, Lorie and Mark rock as dancers and teachers!
