Taking time for me has never been a priority for me. I’m not a high maintenance kind of girl. I don’t require new things all of the time like many women I know. I’m content with a little blush on my cheeks and mascara on my lashes and a brush through my hair and I’m set for the day. Doing things for myself is not really in my make-up and I guess I got that from my mother. Now taking care of myself has become more important as I’ve gotten older but that is different than pampering yourself. Exercise and drinking lots of water and eating right are a must and not a luxury so how do I pamper myself? I guess that is one thing I need to work on. Life is just so busy there just doesn’t seem to be time left over for me. One of my favorite things to do is walk through the woods this time of year and just see nature and I was thrilled that a friend called needing help finding a deer he’d shot with his bow but wasn’t able to find it. It was enjoyable in two ways, not only was I helping someone I was getting that much loved time in the woods.
So what is a girl to do? I’ve begun going to bed earlier and sometimes I even take a little while to read a book. Now I must admit that I’m still reading something that I can learn more about living a healthier lifestyle but I am making progress in that I’m taking time to read instead of spending time on my computer, and maybe I will get to the point I can read for fun instead of learning, but who knows. There are so many wonderful books to read and the one I’ve just finished is called “Taming the Dragon Within” how to balance women’s hormones with essential oils. It’s super! Another really good book is the the Essential Oil desk reference, there is more information than just about the oils in there. I love to read anything written by Teri Secrest. I want to read Healing Oils of the Bible by David Stewart. Of course Jim Rohn and John C. Maxwell are two of my favorites too. There really is no excuse for not reading. It’s good for your brain you know.
