Its September and I can taste fall! Its my favourite time of year. From Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, this time of year is full of my favourite events, my favourite activities and I can hardly wait. I’m anticipating sleeping with the windows open, fall smells, crafts, pumpkin spice lattes (with coconut milk) and hikes.
We have one minor detail: Its still 100 degrees in Phoenix, but I know that the evenings and mornings will start to cool off any day now. I’ve already started on my Christmas crafts. (I can’t let you know what it is yet, its a secret 🙂
I remember a few years ago on my season trip to a certain store for all the fall smells in candles I’ve learned a few things since then so I am including fall recipes for your diffuser!
Most candles are made of paraffin wax, which creates highly toxic benzene and toluene when burned (both are known carcinogens). In fact, the toxins released from paraffin candles are the same as those found in diesel fuel fumes. Yikes. They also create respiratory and allergy issues as you breathe in the fragranced air as its so synthetic. Even the soy candles omit toxins in the air as the fragrance in the wax is melted and released into the air.
Try some of these diffuser blends instead. Its cleaner and all plant based your whole family (Including your pets) will appreciate you for it.
My favourite is definitely pumpkin pie.
