That’s it, it finally hit 100! Time to break out some simple recipes for your summer mood! It’s a great way to use your Essential oils for Smell, Taste, Fun, Creativity and to support your whole body.

Exfoliate.

The summer does a number at drying out out skin so exfoliation is key. My all time fave body scrub is so simple and so inexpensive.

  • 4 oz Fine course pink Himalayan pink salt
  • 1/2 tablesoon of coconut oil
  • 5 drops of peppermint essential oil and 5 drops of grapefruit essential oilImage result for young living essential oils

(I like the combo of those too because it’s a wake up call with refreshing peppermint and grapefruit is good for my tush and my dimples). Tip: Exfoliate in the shower when your skin is soft and ‘steamed’ so it doesn’t tug on your skin.

After sun Spray

If you are a DIY girl and want to make your own after sun spray here ya  go! In a 4 oz bottle

  • 2 oz of Aloe juice
  • 5 drops lavender and 5 drops of tea tree and 5 drops of peppermint. (Lavender will love on sunkissed skin, tea tree will take out the sting and peppermint will cool you off).
  • Top off with water.

Shake and spray after being in the sun. You don’t have to use Aloe juice if you don’t have it, You can use a tablespoon of coconut oil but you will have to shake harder before spraying.

Body Butter

After exfoliating you need some moisture!

  • 2 oz of coconut oil
  • 2 oz shea butter
  • 8 drops lavender (you could spoil your self and add some frank too).

Melt the butter and coconut oil in a double boiler until melted. Add your oils and stir. Let it set for about an hour in the fridge (until it looks white) and then whip with an electric mixer.

Tip: You can use any of your skin loving oils OR… peace and calming / stress away for a night time lotion.

I have a challenge with hot feet at night, but you could use this any time. I gave this roller to my Gardner last summer because he’s out in this heat all the time. You could make this into a spray also.  In a 10 ml roller

  • 10 drops peppermint
  • Fill with a carrier oil. I like V6 in rollers as coconut oil may solidify and not roll.

Roll on your neck, ears, feet, chest or wherever you need to cool off

Tip: Great for private summers for ladies of ‘that’ age.

Summer Popsicles!

Who doesn’t love a summer treat? Better than the sugar options

Citrus Coconut Popsicles are the perfect way to cool down on those HOT summer nights!
Ingredients
1 can of full-fat coconut milk
1 cup of orange juice or orange pineapple juice (Get creative!!!)
1/3 cup (or to taste) agave or sweetener of choice
1-2 drops of Lime Vitality or Citrus Fresh Vitality Essential Oil

Directions:

Blend coconut milk, agave, and Lime Vitality Essential Oil.
Pour mixture into popsicle mold, dividing evenly.
Place in freezer for 10 minutes; then top with juice
Freeze again for 30 minutes.

Insert popsicle sticks. Continue freezing until firm.

Citrus Fresh Vitality supports your immune system.

Something for the kids?  How about Peace and calming bubbles? Image result for bubbles

  • 4 cups of warm water
  • 1/2 cup of Thieves dishsoap
  • 1 Tablespoon of Baking soda
  • 10-20 drops of essential oil of your choice
  • 1 tablespoon of Thieves cleaner

Mix all the ingredients well with a whisk. Pour into mason jars and away you go!

Creativity challenge: Have the kids make their own wands with some beads, crafting wires or whatever you can find! (Oil bottle tops work!)

Tip: Use Lavender, Purification, Geranium and Peppermint and have them blow bubbles over your garden. Added pest control!!!

Something for the grownups!! Sangria!

  • 1 bottle of white wine
  • 2 cans of zyng
  • 1 shot of peach schnapps
  • Fruit of your choice. I like peaches, apples and cherries
  • 2 drops of Lime, Lemon, Tangerine and Bergamot vitality

Serve over ice. Not in plastic cups please!
