Silky Hair Party

It’s Friday night and we are having girl time! That’s right 🙂

Having just moved to Florida, we took full advantage of all that summer has to offer and that means beach or pool every day. By every day I mean 46 days straight baby; and some days required both beach AND pool 🙂 It took our youngest exactly eight days to go from not being able to swim at all, to swimming clear across the pool sans floaty. All of that sun, salt and chlorine really does a number on your hair. All of our hair started feeling more dull and brittle and it became a total pain in the tush to brush through even with our beloved Wet Brush. If you are a girl, or have girls and you have never tried this brush, um you need to!

So, we decided to do a hair treatment for our girls night!!! There are a ton of hair treatments on the market, but if you know me you know that I prefer to not put any toxic things on myself or my minis. Plus, I can make a hair treatment for a heck of a lot less than they sell the nasty ones at the store for. This hair treatment only costs $3.45 and that is total for all three of us! That’s right! Pour a glass of wine because this thrifty mama just earned it 😉

Silky Hair Party:
1/2 cup coconut oil
2 drops Rosemary Essential Oil
4 drops Geranium Essential Oil
6 drops Cedarwood Essential Oil

We only get our essential oils from Young Living because of their superior Seed to Seal guarantee. Find out more and get some for yourself at You. Just Healthier

Mix it all together and apply to dry hair from roots to tips. Don’t be scared! You really need to get it in there on all your hair. If you have long hair you may want to put it up because you will want to let this set for 1 – 1.5 hours. We colored and watched The Next Great Baker while our hair was gettin silky 🙂

When you are ready to wash it out you will want to wash your hair with shampoo twice. The first time gets out all of the oil and the second time actually cleans your hair. So the order is shampoo, rinse, shampoo, rinse, conditioner, rinse. Get ready to be wowed because not only will your hair be easier to brush through but it will feel softer and look shinier. Depending on how damaged your hair is you may need to repeat in a week.

Get ready for heads to turn!
